About Seretta

We started doing Tilt-Wall before Tilt-Wall was cool

Richard J. McPherson, PE, a pioneer in the tilt-wall industry, constructed his first tilt-wall in 1963. In 1987, he founded and began Seretta Construction.
1987
We built one of the first (4) four-story (full height, single panels) tilt-wall office projects ever attempted. At that time, the brace manufacturers had never encountered single panels of such heights so we worked with the brace manufacturer to design braces that would support such heights.
1999
We pushed the envelope again and built one of the first (5) five-story (full height, single panels) tilt-wall office projects ever attempted. Again, just as with the (4) story office building, the large amount of openings resulted in a huge amount of deflection once erected. We worked with a bracing manufacturer to design braces capable of handling panels at such heights and deflections.
2003
We received the Murray Parker Memorial Award from the Tilt-Up Concrete Association for our drive to push the Tilt-Up medium forward and explore the use of the construction method for a diverse range of projects.
2009
Richard J. McPherson P.E. awarded the Peter Courtois Memorial Award. This award is the Tilt-Up Concrete Association’s highest honor and is presented to recipients whose career-long dedication to the greater good of the tilt-up industry is recognized by their peers.
2014
  • Seretta Construction went from a family-owned company to a 100% employee owned company.
  • Seretta Construction awarded the 2024 TCA Contractor of the Year Award.
  • Seretta Mid-Atlantic LLC awarded the "Best Tilt-Up Safety (Tilt-Up Contractor less than 250K work hours)" award.
2024
We bought our first S-240 laser screed and were one of the first companies in the US to start using laser screeds.
1992
We expanded our operations into a new market. We opened the Seretta Construction Mid-Atlantic office in Charlotte, North Carolina.
2001
We have received many awards but one of the awards we are most proud of is the 2005 “Florida Family Business Program –Family Business of the Year” award. These awards are based on a number of factors including community involvement, business growth rate and current size, and business longevity.
2005

We were the second company to receive the Tilt-Up Concrete Association’s “Certified Company” designation. This designation is received after a thorough review of a company’s experience, quality control measures, safety records, and interviewing clients in regards to our quality and professionalism.

2013

Andrew S. McPherson, FTCA inducted into the Tilt-Up Concrete Association College of Fellows.

Get to Know the Pioneer of Tilt Wall Construction

Richard J. McPherson, PE, was a pioneer in the tilt wall industry, working on his first tilt wall construction project in 1963. Recognizing the potential of this innovative construction method, he founded Seretta Construction in 1987 to bring tilt wall projects to life.

Richard J. McPherson, PE

Embracing Cutting-Edge Technology: Laser Screeds

In 1992, Seretta Construction took a leap forward by acquiring our first laser screed, becoming one of the first companies in the US to utilize this advanced technology. Since then, they have built an impressive fleet of the latest laser screed models, ensuring precise and efficient concrete placement.

Pushing Boundaries: Four-Story and Five-Story Tilt-Wall Projects

In 1999, Seretta Construction embarked on a groundbreaking project, constructing one of the first four-story tilt-wall office buildings in the industry. The project presented unique challenges as existing brace manufacturers had never encountered single panels of such heights. Seretta Construction collaborated with the brace manufacturer to design custom braces capable of supporting this remarkable height.

Continuing our pursuit of innovation, in 2003, Seretta Construction achieved another milestone by constructing one of the first five-story tilt-wall office buildings. The significant number of openings in these structures created a considerable amount of deflection. Once again, they worked closely with the bracing manufacturer to design braces that could handle the height and deflection, demonstrating our commitment to pushing the envelope in tilt-wall construction.
